Aesthetic treatments such as fillers and Botox injections can be performed from age 18, but of course there is no need at that age to fill wrinkles or treat expression wrinkles and that usually starts in the late twenties.
Botox is the commercial name for botulinum toxin (other commercial names – Dysport, Xeomin) which in small quantities paralyzes muscles for about three months and treats expression wrinkles that result from excessive movement of the muscles. The expression wrinkles that are commonly being treated with Botox are the forehead expression wrinkles, the glabellar lines (the wrinkles between the eyebrows) and fine wrinkles at the sides of the eyes (Crow’s Feet).
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of our skin that provides stability, flexibility and vitality. Filler preparations that are produced from hyaluronic acid fill wrinkles and provide volume and facial sculpturing in a safe and effective way. The acid lasts for between 6 and 18 months depending on the site of the injection (in moving areas such as the lips, absorption is relatively faster).
Skin boosters is a commercial name for a product that contains a relatively diluted and un – stablized hyaluronic acid which is injected into the skin not for providing volume, but to restore vitality, shine and freshness to the skin. It has been shown that superficial injection of hyaluronic acid into the skin causes its rejuvenation and increases its hydration and the quantity of elastic fibers – all of which improve the skin quality.
